Prevention of juvenile crime is necessary for children. Firstly, identification of such juveniles and then providing them with the required treatment is of utmost importance. These adolescents become habitual offenders if not timely stopped from committing offenses. Moreover, the most effective way to prevent juvenile delinquency has indubitably been to assist children and their families from the very beginning. Many Jurists and criminologists suggest various provisions for the prevention of juvenile delinquency. Some of the provisions that are very useful for the welfare, development, and growth of juveniles have been mentioned below.

Individual Programs- It involves the prevention of delinquency through counseling, psychotherapy, and proper education.

Environmental Programs- involves the employment of techniques to change the socio-economic context likely to promote delinquency.

Prevention of juvenile delinquency requires a lot of effort on the part of the entire society. only if the entire society contributes, we can successfully eradicate juvenile delinquency. By engaging young children in socially and legally usual activities, we can create awareness among young children as to what is right and what is wrong. Family interactions have a major impact on shaping the life of the child. So, parents should stop nagging and using threats on children to gain control of the children. Some of the other ways to prevent juvenile delinquency are-

Education - Educational and awareness programs such as programs to parents on how to behave with their children, how their behavior will leave an impact on the children, and how important interaction with their children should be conducted. And children have to be properly educated in schools about social behaviors.

Parent-child interaction - programs should be conducted about parenting skills and how the interactions should happen between parents and children. Healthy discussions should take place between parents and their children to educate the child properly regarding behavior issues. Programs on how to respond to their child’s behaviors should be conducted for the parents.

Prevent bullying - Most of the time, children become victims of bullying near their neighborhood by other peer groups or on the school campus. This bullying might have an impact on the mental health of the children. Sometimes children might hold grudges and commit offenses unknowingly.

Recreation - Recreation programs extend opportunities for children to connect with other children and adults. They might make a positive friendship which might help them in the future. These recreation programs should be designed in such a way that they would fit the personalities and skills that the children have. Extra-curricular activities, such as music, dance, sports, martial arts, painting, etc., have to be provided to the children to keep their minds refreshing and occupied.

               Delinquency Prevention is the broad term for all efforts aimed at preventing youth from getting involved in criminal, or other antisocial activities. Various governments are recognizing the importance of allocating resources for the prevention of delinquency. Prevention services include activities such as substance abuse education, treatment, family counseling, youth mentoring, parenting education, educational support, and youth sheltering.

The exploitation of children is one of the many evils present in our society. Such abuse has an enduring and profound effect on a child’s life. The problem of juvenile delinquency is serious because it forces the child to react or behave in such a way that is harmful to both society and him.

It is important to eradicate this practice from society to keep control of the problem of Juvenile Delinquency. It is in the best interest of the deviant child to rehabilitate him as early as possible and integrate him back into society. The State must protect the rights of these children and come up with reformative methods to inculcate values in these children that can socially uplift and give confidence to them so that they can further play a constructive role in society.
